Acorn Cottage is 300 years old, detached with a landscaped garden, patio and delightful views over the wolds. The cottage is situated in a quiet lane, in a charming part of the village of Dovedale End, Blockley, nestling in the midst of the rolling Cotswolds uplands.

Acorn Prices

Apr-Oct £420 per week / Nov-Mar £300 per week. Excluding national Holidays.

Weekend offers can be made by arrangement.

Modernisation and Refurbishment

Whilst retaining its original character it has been modernised to offer:

• Mains Drainage
• Central heating
• Fitted kitchen with dining area, microwave and fridge
• cosy lounge and scandinavian log fire
• Bathroom with bath, electric shower and airing cupboard
• Two bedrooms, one with twin beds, the other with single bed.

What you need to bring

The cottage is well furnished with a range of crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils. Continental quilts are provided on all 4 beds.

• Sheets/pillow cases and/ or sleeping bags
• Towels and tea towels
• Washing up liquid, washing powder
• Your own food and drinks
• Plastic bags to dispose of your rubbish on your departure
• Sense of humour for a rainy day

And don't forget, waterproofs, boots and sensible warm clothing for the outdoor life.

  • Western Arms (Station Road) - Inexpensive meals and local ales
  • Coffee shop and light refreshments in local co-opertive store run by the villagers
• Batsford Arboretum and Falconry is well worth a visit

Directions and map

By rail: The nearest station is Moreton-in-Marsh on the Paddington (London) to Worcester line. Taxi service available to Blockley.

By road: From London via M40 and A40 to Oxford (Ring Road) and then A44 towards Evesham. After Moreton-in -Marsh, pass through Bourton-on-the-Hill and turn right at the top of the hill on to the B4479. Blockley is 1 mile from the main road (A44) and is clearly signposted.
